palazzo_carovana_pisaThe University of Pisa was officially established in 1343, although a number of scholars claim its origin dates back to the 11th century. Pisa was one of the first European universities that could boast the papal attestation “Studium Generale”, which guaranteed the universal, legal value of its educational qualifications.

Students can be pre-evaluated by the relevant program coordinator starting in February and until April. Those who may be admitted will have to apply formally through the Italian Embassy in their own Country of residence (between May and June each year; there is only one intake each year, in Fall). Once the visa is granted, students can get to Italy to be enrolled.
